TORONTO INMATES LOOKING FOR LOVE ONLINE

With the growing rise of online dating apps like Tinder, Bumble & ones with crazier names like Blacky (Dating app for Black people I suppose) an even more… ‘unique’ one has popped up on the scene. Inmates Connect was started by a Toronto woman (Unnamed at the moment) and has an office here in Toronto on Kingston Rd. One of the headlines on the site is “Through this site, the hope is to attract pen pals from across Canada and essentially the world who would be willing to write to an inmate.”

The story was brought to my attention below on CityNews Toronto’s YouTube channel on a story about the site based off the online profile of convicted murderer Mark ‘Prezidenteeh’ Moore who is currently seeking love from the outside world. Moore maintains his innocence from his 2012 convictions and is currently serving life in Millhaven Federal Penitentiary.

From my own experience with the system, seeing women who have met men after they have been incarcerated is not a new thing. In fact from our research we found out that the site has been in existence for at least 2 years. Let us know what you think below. Is this a good idea? Do you have any relatives in the systems who use this site?
